The Los Angeles Lakers aren’t making a ton of waves in free agency but they’re also not rushing into things when it comes to signing players to deals off the open market. One deal that the Lakers recently agreed to was a fat four year contract for Nick Young, but it appears Swaggy P is going to have to wait on his deal before moving forward.

According to Marc Stein from ESPN.com, the Lakers are putting their deal with Young on hold for the time being to see how things play out on the Pau Gasol front. This doesn’t mean a deal won’t get done but it just means the Lakers haven’t lost hope that Gasol could return.
The Lakers absorbed a big contract in Jeremy Lin from the Houston Rockets on Friday and they handed a fat deal to big man Jordan Hill as well as Young. The Chicago Bulls look in line to acquire Gasol though, either through signing him or via sign-and-trade with the Lakers but either way the Nick Young deal isn’t going to happen until something does with Gasol.
