Early in the NBA free agency period, the Charlotte Hornets made a big play for Gordon Hayward. It was a contract offer that the Utah Jazz would have the opportunity to match, but there was some skepticism about whether or not Utah would want to match the nearly $16 million annual fee.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Jazz have informed Charlotte that they will be matching the team’s offer sheet.
Hayward is now set to re-sign with the Jazz on a four-year, $63 million deal later today.
