The NBA Free Agency pipeline is starting to flow more and more freely as after the announcements by Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James as to where they plan on playing this upcoming season, other players began to sign in a flurry of activity this weekend.

More from Dallas Mavericks

It didn’t take long for the likes of Pau Gasol, Luol Deng and Trevor Ariza to find new homes but one name remains on the open market and has become the biggest name left unsigned. Lance Stephenson caused a stir in the Eastern Conference Finals thanks to his antics against LeBron James and it may have ended up costing him some attention on the open market. But one place that he may find some attention is down in Dallas where the Mavericks have struck out on Luol Deng but are looking to find a Monta Ellis type of steal this offseason.

According to Jeff Caplan of NBA.com, the Mavericks might be able to find a steal again like they did with Monta Ellis last year where they waited on the price on him to drop and they got him at a decent price tag.

The difference this year is that Stephenson is being pursued by the Indiana Pacers who want to get him back rather than see him slip away to another team. He’d be going to a contender it the West, but the Pacers’ desire to get Stephenson back seems to suggest that waiting oon the price to drop might not work out so smoothly for the Mavs like it did last year.
