The Major League Baseball All-Star Game for the 2014 season is Tuesday night, but let’s be honest, all eyes are on one man and that’s New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, who delivered in his first plate appearance.

As he has done so many times throughout his illustrious career, when the pressure was on him the most, Jeter stepped up and pulled through for his team.
In his first at-bat, and more than likely facing the most pressure he ever has in his career, Jeter used that trademark inside-out swing to crank a double down the right field line.
Already his appearance in the game is paying dividends for the American League team. What may have made the moment even better, though, is the fact that Jeter would later score a run after a Mike Trout triple to right field.
Okay, actually, the best part of this moment may have been the fact that he got the hit after some fan yelled “Overrated!” Yeah, that might have taken the cake.
Still, what a way for one of the biggest legends in the game to get his final All-Star Game kicked off, and it’ll be a moment that we can all remember for years to come.
