The 2014 MLB All Star Game was held on Tuesday night at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota. If you weren’t aware, it was Derek Jeter’s final All Star appearance.

More from MLB

Prior to the season, Jeter announced that this would be his final season.

Since the announcement, the Jeter farewell tour has been in full effect and fans have gathered to watch “The Captain” as he makes performs the final act of his Hall of Fame career.

The farewell tour hasn’t set well with everyone, however.

There is no denying the fact that Jeter is well past his prime, but analysts and fans still want to just remember the glory days.

Some fans are living in the moment, though, and that was never more clear than on Tuesday night.

When Jeter stepped up to the plate for his first at-bat of the 2014 All Star Game in the lead-off spot for the American League, one fan shouted “overrated” near the microphone.

Of course, it was an ill-timed comment with Jeter smacking a double.
