The epicenter of the renewed talks is in Las Vegas though, as the Wolves and Warriors are playing in the Las Vegas Summer League along with a slew of other teams in the NBA debuting their rookies and looking for hidden depth talent.
According to Jon Krawczynski from the Associated Press, the Wolves and Warriors are talking again about a Kevin Love trade and the talks have apparently included Minnesota president Flip Saunders and Dubs GM Bob Myers talking in person this weekend in Las Vegas.
"Timberwolves president and coach Flip Saunders was seen talking to Warriors GM Bob Myers at the arena on Sunday as the two sides look to bridge the gaps that caused discussions to stall. The Warriors have been reluctant to include shooting guard Klay Thompson in any package, which has been considered a deal-breaker for the Timberwolves. It remained unclear if the Warriors have changed their position on Thompson in the new talks."
The Wolves have coveted Thompson from the start as they’ve been looking for ways to get Love off their roster but only with the best return possible. But for the Warriors, Thompson has been a non-starter in trade talks as the second he’s brought up the world is reminded that the team is no interested in trading him away.
