Darren Sharper to appear in court Wednesday
By Cory Buck
Darren Sharper will appear in Los Angeles County Superior Court Wednesday to face charges for allegedly drugging and raping two women in October, per The Washington Times. Immediately thereafter, he’ll face additional charges with extradition in mind for allegedly doing the same to three women in Tempe, Arizona in November.

Sharper, 38, has been held without bail while awaiting his trial and it appears the first step in his defense will begin soon. His alleged crimes have spanned several states, including Louisiana, Florida, and Nevada in addition to the two states which are vying to be the first to try Sharper for charges of rape.
It’s a bizarre twist to the beginning of the former All-Pro Safety’s retirement. Sharper played for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and New Orleans Saints before he retired in 2010. Since then, he’s allegedly been roaming the country performing nefarious deeds, drugging unsuspecting women. The sheer volume and scope of the claims could undermine Sharper’s defense unless his team can prove there is some kind of interstate conspiracy to frame him.
Sharper and his attorneys have pleaded not guilty to the charges in California and Arizona, and they deny the charges in the other states. The proceedings elsewhere will likely depend on the outcome of the cases on Wednesday.
