Greg Hardy and his insane trial quotes
By Cory Buck
Greg Hardy was found guilty on two counts of assault on Tuesday, but that’s not the weirdest result of that development. The strangest thing to emerge from Hardy’s defense of charges that he beat his girlfriend is the myriad of quotes that have emerged from the case since Hardy was found guilty.

The full gamut of quotes can be found at Black and Blue Review, a site dedicated to the Carolina Panthers, but we have a few highlights right here.
"“He looked me in my eyes and he told me he was going to kill me. I was so scared I wanted to die. When he loosened his grip slightly, I said, ‘Just do it. Kill me.’ At that point I accepted I was going to die.” –Hardy’s girlfriend, Nicole Holder“I thought high-profile people get away with stuff like this. He’s Greg Hardy of the Carolina Panthers.” — Holder on why she ran from police.“I brushed my teeth. I sleep in my socks, so I put socks on.” – Hardy, describing how he got ready for bed in the early morning hours of May 13."
Now you go too far, Greg Hardy. Sleeping with socks on? Barbarism.
Of the 23 quotes though, this one might be the most telling.
"“You had alcohol.” – Jamie Adams, state’s attorney, cross-examining Hardy.“Champagne.” –Hardy.“Is champagne alcohol.” – Adams.“You tell me.” – Hardy.“OK we’ll move on.” – Adams."
I guess that’s why we don’t get to be attorneys. How many people just wanted to blink at Hardy and slowly say, “Yes, Greg. Champagne is, in fact, alcohol.”?
While Hardy was found guilty, his attorney has already promised an appeal with a full jury to boot. The Greg Hardy Saga isn’t over by half and after this bizarre courtroom scene, it will certainly be worth tracking going forward.
