Since then, the Cowboys have continued to be one of the NFL’s most influential and supported teams, even while they are in the midst of a postseason slump over the last several seasons.
According to Forbes, the Cowboys are the most valuable NFL franchise. With an owner like Jerry Jones and the massive stadium they play in, this should not come as a surprise whatsoever. In fact, the Cowboys are the 5th most valuable sports team in the entire world. The only American sports team that are more valuable than the Cowboys? You guessed it, the New York Yankees who are valued at $2.5 billion.
According to Pro Football Talk, the Cowboys are valued at $2.3 billion. Their stadium naming rights deal with AT&T was estimated by Forbes at about $500 million.
Three other NFL teams cracked the top 10 of most valuable sports franchises in the world: The New England Patriots, The Washington Redskins, and the New York Giants.
Shockingly, not one NBA team made it in the top 10. The first NBA team to be listed, the New York Knicks, was at No. 13 with a value of $1.4 billion.
