NBA Rumors: Cavaliers now willing to include Andrew Wiggins in trade for Kevin Love
By Sam Richmond
Following LeBron James’ decision to join the Cleveland Cavaliers, it was widely reported that the Cavs were also interested in trading for Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love in the fold as well.

However, a reported roadblock in trade talks was that the Wolves would only trade Love to the Cavaliers if No. 1 pick Andrew Wiggins was included, which Cleveland wouldn’t do.
However, according to Bob Finnan of the The Morning Journal, the Cavs have had a change of heart in regards to dealing Wiggins because of James’ desires
"A league source said on July 17 that the Cavs are now willing to trade the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 draft.(…)a source said James wants the 6-10, 250-pound Love on the roster. And, what James wants, he normally gets."
This is far from surprising. A trio of LeBron, Love and Kyrie Irving would make the Cavs far-and-away the favorites to win the Eastern Conference and a real threat to win an NBA championship.
Wiggins obviously has significant potential to be great, but Cleveland has an opportunity to put together a special team here. Trading the former Kansas Jayhawk to make that happen is the smart move.
Finnan has more details on the potential trade:
"The latest offer could include Wiggins, power forward Anthony Bennett and a first-round pick. Center Brendan Haywood might be included in the deal to make it work contractually."
This is a win-win deal.
The Cavs immediately become one of the best teams in the league, while the Wolves get a can’t-miss prospect in Wiggins and Bennett, a former No. 1 pick who still has a chance to be a solid contributor in the league.
