Well it seems as if the separation between Chandler Parsons and the Houston Rockets is not going over very peacefully after they declined to match the offer by the Dallas Mavericks. First, Parsons said that he felt disrespected by the franchise, now we’re getting some input from Dwight Howard, which was less than favorable also.

While some believe that the departure of Parsons will certainly hurt the Rockets’ chances at contending for a title, Howard doesn’t see it that way. Actually, as he told ESPN, Parsons’ departure from the organization won’t hurt them at all.

“It won’t affect us at all,” Howard said Friday of Parsons signing a three-year, $45-million deal with the Dallas Mavericks.

He then went on to explain that getting to the NBA Finals and winning the title is all on he and the guys that are still there.

“We have myself and James,” Howard said. “We have the best center and the best two guard in the game on the same team. It’s on us.”

Of course, you could see where some would think that Parsons heading off to Dallas would hurt the Rockets. Last season in the team’s playoff run, Parsons averaged 16.6 points per game and 5.5 rebounds. Especially in the points category, that’s a good amount of production to be losing.

But, Howard doesn’t seem to think so.

What do you think? Will the Rockets be hurt without the presence of Parsons? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
