Timberwolves trying to create bidding war for Kevin Love between Warriors, Cavaliers
By Sam Richmond
It’s fairly well known that there are two primary suitors for the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Kevin Love: the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

So, naturally, the Wolves are trying to use that to their advantage by creating a bidding war between the two teams, according to ESPN’s Chris Broussard.
"There is also a feeling around the league that Minnesota is attempting to drive up the price for Love by having the Cavs and Warriors compete for the deal."
It’s a smart strategy, and it appears to be working to some degree. Broussard places the Cavaliers’ latest offer for Love as a fairly remarkable super-package.
"In an attempt to add Love, a three-time All-Star, the Cavaliers are willing to part with Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett, the top picks in the past two drafts. One source said the Cavs are also willing to give up a first-round draft pick for next season. Any other players involved in the talks are not known."
However, this supposed bidding war does not appear to be changing the Warriors’ hard stance that they are unwilling to part with Klay Thompson.
"The Warriors have thus far been unwilling to offer Klay Thompson, and are currently dangling David Lee and Harrison Barnes. While some executives in Golden State are willing to part with Thompson, the club’s overall stance has been that he will not be traded."
If Thompson is still off the table than this bidding war might be over, and the Wolves’ best offer would be the latest from Cleveland, which is far from a bad thing from Minnesota’s perspective.
