One of the most talked about names has been the only star the Miami Marlins have seemingly had for the past few years and that’s Giancarlo Stanton. He hit the mainstream in the Home Run Derby where he launched a ball farther than a human being should be able to do so but if you didn’t know him from that then you knew him from the rampant trade speculation involving his name.
According to Jon Heyman from CBSSports.com, the Marlins aren’t actively trying to trade Giancarlo Stanton and are even telling teams to back off because he isn’t available in a trade.
"There is no real evidence that the Marlins would consider trading their active superstar, outfielder Giancarlo Stanton, and in fact Marlins people are telling teams they have no interest in moving him."
The Boston Red Sox have been hot after Stanton but they don’t seem likely to land him anytime soon thanks to the Marlins resistance to trade their star hitter. He could net insane assets in a trade, but Miami doesn’t seem ready to sell which means t Stan won’t be moved or he will be in a crazy deal that offers Miami incredible return.
