Alabama Crimson Tide fan sucker punches Zach Mettenberger at bar
By Josh Hill
The Tennessee Titans drafted former LSU Tigers quarterback Zach Mettenberger to possibly develop into their quarterback of the future, but in drafting him they also adopted the bad blood between LSU and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

In the latest incident of Bama violence, a Tide fan has been accused of sucker punching Mettenberger in a bar after he tossed aside a Roll Tide chant — you know, since he’s not in college anymore and is trying to make an NFL roster.
According to Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt, Mettenberger was sucker punched by what was likely a drunk Bama fan (do they come any other way?) who was put off by the former LSU quarterback’s quick dismissal of a Roll Tide chant that was thrown his direction at a bar.
"“Here’s the truth: The guy said something about ‘Roll Tide!’ to Zach, and Zach turned around and said ‘Good luck with that,’ ” Ford said. “And the guy’s buddy then sucker-punched Zach.“I promise you that Mettenberger did not throw a punch. He didn’t do anything. The guy sucker-punched him in the eye, that’s the bottom line, and the guy that punched him started running out the door. My door guys had to chase him down.”"
This is just another incident of how college football fans are both more passionate and way more stupid than NFL fans are, as the hatred runs deep and never dies. Mettenberger may have just turned pro, but the Bama-LSU sour grapes feud went pro a long time ago and this sucker punch is just the latest example of just how bad the blood remains.
