All eyes during the San Francisco 49ers’ upcoming training camp will no doubt be on the returning Marcus Lattimore. The former South Carolina standout will finally be ready to take the football field once again, but the only question is when will he be able to take the field?

Lattimore will not be starting out camp with his teammates participating, but as Bill Williamson points out, he will be out there with the rest of the running backs and the team very soon.

Lattimore’s comeback story is one that is being watched by not only the 49ers’ fans, but the entire country. A second, severe knee injury derailed Lattimore’s career at South Carolina and he opted to enter the NFL Draft instead of remaining in college and putting a professional career completely at risk.

He slipped in the 2013 NFL Draft, but head coach Jim Harbaugh took a chance on him, even though he knew that the rehab would keep him out for an entire season, which it did.

But now we’re going to find out whether or not the year off was that beneficial, and we’re going to find out soon, apparently.
