The Minnesota Timberwolves are ready to trade Kevin Love to the Cleveland Cavaliers and would pull the trigger on a deal right now, but the Cavaliers are the ones holding up the deal according to a new report.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

After balking at the idea of trading Andrew Wiggins as part of a package, the Cavaliers again seem to be holding off on assets that could land them the best young power forward in the NBA today.

According to Gery Woelfel of The Journal Times, the Wolves are ready to pull the trigger on a Kevin Love trade but are being met with more resistance from the Cavaliers, this time over the inclusion of multiple future first round picks.

Should this be accurate, it’s baffling information as it’s proof that the Cavaliers maybe aren’t as bright as we’ve been giving them credit for. It’s one thing to not wnat to give up Andrew Wiggins — an unproven college star at the pro level — but it’s another thing to hold out unnamed, unknown and completely unproven future picks that could end up being low first rounders.

Cleveland has a chance to pull off something special, but they’re on the wrong side of the line between careful and overly cautious.
