The career of the man they once called Honey Badger is actually going a lot better than it looked like it would during his final days at LSU, but it’s still a tough road to travel for Tyrann Mathieu.

After getting a shot in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals, Mathieu is battling a knee injury that is threatening to derail a majority of his 2014 campaign before it even beings. According to ProFootballTalk.com, the Cardinals have placed their young safety on the PUP list due to the knee injury that ended his 2013 season early.
"Mathieu was one of two Cardinals placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list on Thursday, which means he’ll be held out of the team’s practices until the medical team feels he’s ready to take on a bigger workload. The procedural move can be undone at any point during camp, but Mathieu’s questionable status for Week One could lead the team to leave him on the list for at least the first six weeks of the regular season."
This does not mean that Matheu is designated to miss any regular season time and he may not even miss any preseason time, but the fact of the matter is that his knee is just not better yet and doctors want the torn ligaments to get stronger before they make any decisions on his playing again.
Mathieu will be on the field again this season, but the wait continues as his journey to complete and total redemption is hitting an all too common snag.
