Jack White is in Chicago to take care of some rock and roll business, and on his night off he decided to do what every one else does when they visit Chicago for any reason: take in a Cubs game at Wrigley Field.
More from Chicago Cubs
- MLB Rumors: Yankees mistake, Cardinals trade package, Cubs choice
- MLB Rumors: Cardinals budging on Arenado, Orioles-Ohtani package, Yankees backup plan
- Cubs: Cody Bellinger is putting up come-and-get-me numbers
- Cubs front office deserves an apology for Willson Contreras hysteria
- MLB standings ordered by hard hit rate: Struggling Cardinals still cracking bats
But despite being in the Friendly Confines, Jack looked anything but friendly. In fact, he looked downright surly.
It takes the average Cub fan at least five years to get angry enough to make that face. That means Jack has been a Cub fan for at least five years.
Or, he is unusually susceptible to bad vibes of the type that have been infesting Wrigley for the past 100 years.
Cheer up Jack. They won’t suck forever. They’ve got all that young talent in the minors. Theo promises they’ll be good in the next three to five years.
If you’re still miserable, maybe you should consider switching teams. Hey, aren’t you from Detroit? I heard they have a pretty good baseball team. Maybe you should root for them.
Or root for the White Sox. Judging by your expression, I’d guess you and Hawk Harrelson would get along smashingly.
