The Dallas Mavericks have voided the deal of forward Rashard Lewis according to ESPN’s Marc Stein. During a physical they found out he needed knee surgery, prompting the move.

It doesn’t come as too big a surprise, the knee surgery was reported Tuesday night by Stein and the writing appeared to be on the wall already. Lewis is about to turn 35-years-old and has 16 NBA seasons on his body.
Forward Rashard Lewis will have knee surgery soon, a source told Yahoo. Lewis has previously agreed to sign with Dallas.
