#8 Adrian Peterson (RB)

This one comes with a slight catch. I would need AP to take a slightly smaller contract; he currently is about 11% of the Vikings payroll. Apart from that, he’s a guy any franchise would love to have. Peterson is 29, which is old for a running back, but he’s still in great form when healthy (another thing that slightly worries me, but not enough to leave him off the list).

A pretty funny quote from Bill Simmons about Peterson: “You could win 10 games with Peterson, a half-decent defense and schedule, and Dennis Quaid at quarterback.”

Now, I would hope my newly developed franchise isn’t putting Quaid under center, but you get the point – the boy has skills.

He underperformed his way to almost 1300 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, but any player with over 10,000 career yards (86 touchdowns) that can still play at the level Peterson plays at is something you can’t really pass up.
