Early on Thursday, there were reports that Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice may only be suspended for two games. Later in the day, but not much later, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the NFL is in fact suspending Rice for two games next season.
NFL is suspending Ravens RB Ray Rice for the first two games this season, per sources. The suspension is expected to be announced today.

It came as somewhat of a surprise to a lot of people. Terrelle Pryor for instance was given less games for accepting free tattoos, and for a player who allegedly knocked out his then fiancee and was seen dragging her unconscious out of the elevator. PED users get four games, like Lane Johnson of the Philadelphia Eagles, or Plaxico Burress who was suspended four games for shooting himself.
