The MLB Trade deadline is just around the corner which means that we’re going to start hearing more and more deadline deals get discussed through to a conclusion or nixed before they can get completed.

More from Boston Red Sox

One team that is already wheeling and dealing are the Boston Red Sox and it appears that they have a thirst for making trades that will again be quenched before the deadline arrives next week.

According to ESPN Boston’s Gordon Edes, the Boston Red Sox are getting closer and closer to being willing to deal some major pieces and that’s something that will make the trade deadline even more interesting than it already has become.

"With five days remaining before the non-waiver trade deadline, however, a Sox source acknowledged “we’re working on a lot of things,” and with the team sinking fast in the AL East, Boston’s willingness to part ways with other players on the big-league roster is increasing exponentially."

Boston has dealt Jake Peavy to the San Francisco Giants and while they seem to in the running to land Cole Hamels from the Philadelphia Phillies, the Sox could just blow up the roster in an effort to reset and get their future in order now.
