Zach Mettenberger talks about getting sucker punched
By Josh Hill
The Tennessee Titans drafted former LSU Tigers quarterback Zach Mettenberger to try and challenge Jake Locker for the starting role as well as compete to be the quarterback of the future for the team. What they didn’t think they were drafting him into was a situation where he’d be sucker punched by a drunken Alabama Crimson Tide fan.

That’s what happened the other week though as Mettenberger was on the wrong end of a sucker punch that was delivered at random from a dopey Alabama fan in a bar.
According to Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt, the new Titans quarterback laughed off the ribbing he gets in the locker room thanks to the sucker punch he took from an Alabama fan in a bar the other week.
"First, Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger was the victim of a sucker-punch from an Alabama fan.More recently, he’s been the punch line of some good-natured ribbing in the locker room.“I get Roll-Tided a lot,” Mettenberger said with a smile on Saturday. “But it’s all in good fun.”"
Of course, there’s nothing funny about getting sucker punched by a random bar patron and it was an incident that continues to give Bama fans the wrong name to the greater sports public. Mettenberger is fine though, the Bama fan is probably still drunk somewhere crying about the Auburn game and life at Titans camp goes on — sucker punch free, we hope.
