Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph was preparing to enter a contract year and many believed that he was poised for a breakout season.

While Rudolph can still have that breakout year, he is no longer playing for a new deal.
According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports on Sunday night, Rudolph and the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a new five-year contract.
Financial terms of the deal were not released. (UPDATE: The deal was worth $36.5 million, per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network)
Rudolph missed the final eight games of 2013 thanks to a broken foot, but he has been working hard to get back to 100 percent and the Vikings have rewarded him for his strong efforts.
With new offensive coordinator Norv Turner who loves to utilize the tight end, expect a huge year from Rudolph.
Turner is the same man who helped to pave the way for Jordan Cameron’s breakout year with the Cleveland Browns a year ago, so if Rudolph has that same success he will help out the Vikings quarterbacks and could potentially be a fantasy football steal.
