The New Orleans Saints have opened up their 2014 training camp at The Greenbrier in White Sulpher Springs, West Virginia, and it looks like there is at least a leader in the offensive backfield.

When the Saints first-team offense took the field, it was running back Mark Ingram who took the field with the No. 1 offensive group.
Saints head coach Sean Payton spoke to the media and said that Ingram was “one of our starters.”
It was Pierre Thomas who took the field with the second-team offense, as expected.
While Ingram is with the starters, the Saints are still expected to use a running back committee approach to the running game.
“He’s a guy that we felt played very well in the last half of the season,” Payton said when speaking of Ingram, via the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “It’s a position where we obviously carry depth, because it’s a position that gets nicked up.”
Ingram is in a contract year, so we can expect to see him put his best effort forward.
