Rockies’ Troy Tulowitzki to see sports hernia surgeon
By Jack Crosby
The Colorado Rockies placed their star shortstop Troy Tulowitzski on the 15-Day Disabled List this past week, and the early rehab efforts have been said to not going as well as originally planned. They placed Tulowitzki on the disabled list with a left hip injury that has been lingering, but on Saturday night, he took a trip to Philadelphia to see a sports hernia surgeon for a second opinion, according to the Denver Post.

Tulowitzki went to visit Dr. William Meyers, the same surgeon that has already performed the procedure on the star back in 2012, a season in which he missed most of the season, appearing in only 47 games.
Before Rockies fans start to go into panic mode about losing the player that is heavily in the running to take home the National League MVP award this season, this was merely for a consultation. It’s not uncommon for players with an injury like Tulowitzki to go get a second opinion, and for right now, that’s all this is.
In 91 games this season, the shortstop was batting .340 with 21 home runs and 52 RBI, which again, has him in the running to capture the MVP trophy, although that might now be in jeopardy, should the worst case scenario play out.
