Even though the preseason has yet to get underway, the NFL has essentially returned. In fact, this is the last weekend of 2014 without NFL football.
With that being said, jersey sales for the upcoming season have kicked into high gear. Today, the folks at NFL on ESPN tweeted out the top jersey sales since April, and No. 1 may shock you.
NFL rookie and former Texas A&M superstar Johnny Manziel leads the pack in NFL jersey sales since April. Note that Manziel was not drafted by the Cleveland Browns until May 8th, making his sales numbers all the more impressive.

He also beat out former five time NFL MVP and one time Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning, who came in at the No. 4 spot.
Manziel even beat out established NFL superstars in Colin Kaepernick and Richard Sherman.
It is quite evident that Manziel has the popularity to be one of the NFL’s biggest stars, but will his play on the field win him the starting job and the adoration of NFL fans around the globe? Well that is something that we will have to wait and see develop over the next year.
