The Tampa Bay Rays are the center of attention as the deadline approaches thanks to David Price and the uncertainty surrounding his situation on the team. There are many who believe the ace and Cy Young winner needs to be traded before the deadline arrives but others think something can be worked out one way or the other in the winter.

Either way, the Rays are trade talkers at the moment but Price isn’t the only player for sale. There’s an auction for utility man Ben Zobrist at the moment that has teams like the San Francisco Giants in contact with the Rays trying to get an offer out that lands the the outfielder/infielder in a trade.
According to FOX Sports insider Jon Morosi, it’s not just the Giants but multiple teams interested in adding Zobrist to the roster by way of a trade before the deadline.

Zobrist has had an up and down year so far with teh rays which makes him a wild card for whoever acquires him. It also makes him somewhat affordable as well, which is something attractive for teams looking at dealing with the Rays. There have been talks of a package deal with Price and Zobrist but it’s looking like the Rays might be better off dealing Zobrist on his own as there seems to be more than enough interest in him on the market.
