The Boston Red Sox are a hard team to figure out at the trade deadline this year as they appear to be sellers but are looking like buyers as well.

More from Boston Red Sox

Boston is fading fast int he American League which has prompted the trade of Jake Peavy and the shopping of Jon Lester, Andrew Miller and others. But at the same time, while the Red Sox are selling they are also rumored to be interested in deals for Cole Hamels, Matt Kemp and others which goes against the rebuilding strategy that seems to be in place.

We can now add Troy Tulowitzki’s name to the list of possible Red Sox targets as the All-Star has identified Boston as a place he’d like to be traded.

It’s becoming clear that Tulowitzki would just rather play anywhere if it’s not in Colorado as he’s been looking for a way out of that situation all season long and seems to be making a final push for a trade before the deadline without actually saying it.

The problem is, the Rockies will not be simply giving Tulowitzki away, which means a trade in the winter is more likely than a rushed trade in the 11th hour of the deadline.
