Josh Harrison is single-handedly revolutionizing the art of escaping rundowns. Twice this year Harrison has demonstrated amazing moves in getting out of trouble on the base paths.

More from Colorado Rockies

Sunday against the Rockies, Harrison looked like he was totally boned after sliding through second. But for Josh Harrison, getting caught in a rundown is not the end of the matter. For Harrison, that is only the beginning.

By the time Harrison was done making the Rockies look silly, he was standing safely on third base. Replay upheld the safe call.

Harrison is doing things in rundowns that we have basically never seen. He is taking a play that goes against the runner about 95% of the time and turning it totally around.

Other players will now study Josh Harrison’s rundown escaping technique. They will try to emulate Harrison. They will try to acquire his elusiveness.

Hamstrings will be pulled. Backs will he yanked out of joint. Egos will be bruised. Other players will realize they just can’t do what Josh Harrison does. Josh Harrison is the master of the art of prestidigitation. He is just laughing at all you fools.
