The Mavericks signed rising superstar Chandler Parsons, as well as veteran point guard Jameer Nelson, while trading for Tyson Chandler, and re-signing Dirk Nowitzki. Did you catch all that, because that is quite the busy offseason.
Today, the Mavericks made what will likely be their final move of the offseason when they agreed to terms with veteran forward Al-Farouq Aminu to a 2-year, $2.1 million contract. Due to the fact that the Mavericks made so many moves this offseason, their cap space only allowed them to offer Aminu the veteran minimum.
Aminu will give the Mavericks depth at the forward position as he could come off the bench for either Parsons or Nowitzki.
The Mavericks offseason has proven to fans that Mark Cuban and the front office is determined to get this team back to the finals. Last year, the Mavericks brought the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs to the brink of elimination in the first round as they went to seven games.
With the added talent, the Mavericks are looking to be a dark horse coming out of the crowded western conference.
