Kansas City Royals not interested in Jonny Gomes trade
By Josh Hill
The Kansas City Royals aren’t totally out of contention in the American League yet but that doesn’t mean they’re going to be there in a few weeks time.

That’s why the Royals are getting proactive in trying to make a trade that could put them right back in the thick of the AL Wild Card chase but the trade they’re pursuing might not be the one you thought would make sense. Despite there being rumors connecting the Royals with Boston Red Sox outfielder Jonny Gomes, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports that there is no such interest from the Royals in Gomes.
"According to major league sources, the Royals are one of multiple teams interested in the services of Red Sox reliever Andrew Miller. Kansas City, however, isn’t currently eyeing Sox outfielder Jonny Gomes, who had reportedly drawn interest from the club a few weeks back."
Gomes might have been able to be the bat that the Royals have been looking for but at the end of the day he’s just not what Kansas City seems to be interested in. On the other hand, Miller is an interesting development in terms of where the Royals are starting to look as they’ve been linked to some of the bigger pitching names on the market which means we could see Kansas City try ti break free from this fall they’ve experienced by adding a big name pitcher off the market.
