7. Damian Lillard:

2013-14 Stat Line: 82 games, 35.8 MPG, 20.7 PPG, 5.6 APG, 3.5 RPG, 0.8 SPG, .424/.394/.871 shooting, 18.6 PER

Let’s get one thing out of the way right now: No. 7 through No. 4 on this list are incredibly close. So as wrong as it feels to put such a talented and promising young point guard like Lillard all the way at No. 7, it’s hard to argue against the next three guys as well. If individual highlights were a factor here, Lillard’s series-clinching bomb against the Houston Rockets would have moved him further up the list, but alas, they are not.

Lillard is an spectacular three-point shooter, especially since he converted on nearly 40 percent of his staggering 6.8 attempts per game. Lillard is a master of knocking down shots off the dribble and he’s learning to be a better distributor as well. At only 24 years old, the future is incredibly bright for a player who’s already shown us plenty of times that he lives for end-of-game situations.

That being said, the Blazers play in a brutal conference and getting out of the first round is no guarantee in the West. Compared to the top four point guards on our list, Lillard doesn’t quite stack up yet and though he had a fine season and is rapidly becoming beloved in Portland, there are still six point guards in the league who will either post better numbers as the benefit of playing in a weaker conference or are just hands down better at this point in time.
