49ers’ Brandon Lloyd ‘most consistently productive receiver’ this offseason
By Mike Dyce
Wide receiver wasn’t necessarily the strongest position for the San Francisco 49ers last season as their passing game struggled. That was in part because of Michael Crabtree’s injury which held him out until December.
Now they’ve added Stevie Johnson to the mix to bolster the unit, and the standout so far has been Brandon Lloyd.

Sacramento Bee’s Matt Barrows wrote that Lloyd “has been perhaps the most consistently productive receiver.”
Barrows isn’t the only one taking notice as well, the cornerbacks in charge of guarding him have noticed too.
“His routes are so good, man,” said cornerback Chris Cook.
“Everything he runs, it just looks like he’s about to take off and go straight down the field. You can’t really get good reads on his routes. It makes you stay honest and play your technique true.”
“He runs great routes, excellent routes,” rookie cornerback Dontae Johnson said. “… I haven’t played in the league yet, but I can promise you he’s probably the best in the league at doing that.”
If Lloyd can continue that level of play, he could lock in a roster spot and a role in the 49ers’ rotation at the position.
