Did I say laid-back? There is nothing laid-back about Jack McDowell. Black Jack still has the same intensity and fire he demonstrated as a pitcher. Jack became really fiery Tuesday night during Ogden’s game with Idaho Falls, getting into a shouting match with Idaho Falls manager Omar Ramirez that touched off a general brawl.
The video doesn’t show much but thankfully someone has dubbed the radio play-by-play over it, complete with quaint interference. Thanks to the radio announcer we are informed that, in the middle of the scrum, McDowell takes a swing at Ramirez.
The brawl goes on in typical baseball brawl fashion for a goodly period before things settle down. Knowing Jack McDowell, there’s a good chance his beef with Ramirez will be settled at a future date in a tavern parking lot somewhere, probably with weapons.
They don’t call him Black Jack McDowell for nothing.
