Initially, Zen Studios was looking to engage new gamers on the Microsoft Xbox One, and in doing so was going to bring Pinball FX2 to the current generation system. However, Zen Studios had decided not to allow tables purchased on the Xbox 360 to transfer to the Xbox One; that stance has since changed.

On a lesser note, gamers on the Xbox One looking to play Pinball FX2 on July 31 will have to wait. With making the game cross-generation compatible, the title will be delayed into sometime in August.
GameInformer reached out to Zen Studios and they had this to say:
"“We’re really excited to be able to offer this to our fans. As you may know, Pinball FX2 for Xbox One began in 2013 and there were limitations at that time preventing us from offering this type of transfer feature. Things have been changing on the platform very quickly, and this feature was suddenly possible – literally at the same time we made our launch date announcement.“The past weeks have really been a joint effort between the Zen team and Microsoft to not only ensure that the technology was in place, but also to make it as easy and intuitive as it could be for Pinball FX2 players. We can’t really go into the specifics too much yet of how table transfers will work since we’re still polishing the process, but we’ll let players know soon how to get their tables into the new version of the game.”"
A new Guardians of the Galaxy themed table comes out this week on the Xbox 360, and while you can’t yet play on Xbox One, enjoy knowing your purchases will transfer over.
