Aldon Smith will meet with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell next Friday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, to discuss potential disciplinary actions for his misdemeanor DUI and gun possession charges that resulted in three years of probation for Smith and a 12 day jail sentence.
49ers LB Aldon Smith, facing a significant suspension, is scheduled to meet with Roger Goodell in NY next Friday, Aug. 8, per NFL source.

Goodell will likely also address the ‘bomb threat’ incident with Smith that resulted in no discipline, but in a stern warning from a judge.

The DUI and gun charges however aren’t going to be as easy for all parties to shrug off.
Given the history of discipline in the NFL and the backlash at the light sentence received by Ray Rice, expect Papa Goodell to bring down the hammer on Smith.
In addition to whatever punishment the NFL slaps Smith with, the linebacker will also have to serve 235 hours of community service and he’ll lose his next 11 Mondays so that he can be part of a work crew. The 11 days will make up Smith’s jail sentence for the reduced gun charge.
Losing those days could also cost Smith money as he would have to miss out on training camp days and practice days, which would result in fines. Something tells us Jim Harbaugh isn’t going to be terribly understanding when it comes to waiving those fees.
