The trade is essentially a blockbuster that changes the landscape of both teams and their respective divisions. One factor of the trade that went unseen was the fact that the Athletics were planning on giving out Yoenis Cespedes t-shirts this weekend.
According to the A’s website, this Saturday August 2nd the team was planning on giving the first 10,000 fans at the game a Yoenis Cespedes “La Potencia” shirt.
Not only is that plan foiled miserably, but the Athletics even promoted it on the homepage of their website:

While the Athletics are likely very happy with the trade, they certainly will not be happy having to throw out a plethora of Cespedes t-shirts. Hopefully the team decides to donate the now out of date shirts.
What is your thoughts on this gaffe? What should they do with the t-shirts? What about the trade itself? Who got the better end of the deal? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
