Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin expected back at practice on Saturday
By Jack Crosby
If any rookie is expected to come in and make an impact early on in the NFL, it’s Carolina Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin. However, since Sunday, Benjamin has been on the sidelines watching his new teammates as he heals a bone bruise in his left knee. But he won’t be sitting on those sidelines for much longer.

According to a report from the guys over at RotoWorld, Benjamin is expected to resume work with his new team on Saturday, which is good news for all involved.
Benjamin is expected to make that impact early on mainly because of the losses the Panthers incurred at the wide receiver position this offseason. Basically, to put it lightly, they lost everyone.
That’s why heading into the draft the team was very much expected to take a wide receiver with their first round selection, and they ended up doing just that after Benjamin had a breakout season at Florida State last year, culminating with his game-winning touchdown grab with just seconds left to go in the BCS National Championship Game against Auburn.
In the Panthers offense this season, Benjamin will be doing most of his work from the outside, stretching the field with that 6-6 frame of his as much as he could, giving Cam Newton more room to work.
