Unfortunately for many who bought tickets, one won’t get to see reigning Ballon D’or World Player of the Year—Crisitano Ronaldo. The star Portuguese striker injured himself heading in to the World Cup and has not been 100 percent healthy since.
On Friday, it was announced that Ronaldo would not take part in Real Madrid’s big matchup with his former club. However, that didn’t stop one enterprising t-shirt vendor from hawking his wears with Ronaldo on it.
It also would suggest that Ronaldo is a Michigan fan, right? I mean the t-shirt for sale is all Maize N’ Blue and such.
Either that or Ronaldo is likely completely unaware of who the hell the University of Michigan football team is, let alone the colors they represent. After all, what self-respecting “Michigan Man” would ever done the color red on purpose? That is the color of his former club Manchester United.
Credit the t-shirt vendor for at least trying to capitalize on the biggest name in world sports, while also tying in to the local flavor of Ann Arbor.
