Dan Haren thrown out at first from right field
By Will Perry
In yesterday’s match-up between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs, LA’s Dan Haren grounded out to right. It sounds strange to say, but it happened. The funny thing is, this is the second time Haren has been thrown out from right field in his career. The first time was in a game between LA and the Diamondbacks in April.

The Cubs ended up winning the game 9-3, which only added to Haren’s embarrassment. The Dodgers have had a good season at 62-48, putting them in the first spot of the NL West. Their success has little to do with Dan Haren, who has been having a disappointing season that got worse last night.
He was quoted in the LA Times saying, “Mentally I tried to clear my head. I felt like good things were going to happen. And then the same results. It’s tough. It’s the toughest time of my career. This year, the way we’ve been playing, to kind of be the weak link … I take a lot of responsibility.”
The Dodgers have a real shot in the playoffs if Haren can turn around his poor performance. When he’s at his best, he has the ability to dominate opposing hitters and give LA quality starts. Time will tell if he can rebound in time for his team. Watch the video of the 9-3 putout here.
