Why Paul George will make a speedy recovery
By Will Perry
Paul George’s gruesome injury on Friday was tragic for NBA fans everywhere. It’s likely he will not be able to compete this season for the Pacers and will miss the FIBA World Cup. But if he works hard, he should be able to make a full recovery.

Paul George has gotten a ton of support from fans, other players, and pundits alike, but nobody can truly understand what he’s going through except Kevin Ware. He was recently interviewed by ESPN, giving his encouragement to the NBA star.
“I’m definitely not Paul George. I’m not as strong, and I’m not as tough as Paul George, but he’ll be fine. It’s going to take time and patience, but as long as he’s praying and keeping himself in positive spirits, he’ll be fine.”
No disrespect to Ware, but George is more athletic than the former Louisville standout. Ware was able to complete his recovery in eight months and return to the NCAA. I expect Paul George to be completely healthy in time for the 2014-15 playoffs, should the Pacers make it that far. No player wants to take a season off, but in George’s case an athlete of his caliber should be able to complete a full recovery quickly.
