I suppose the good news for former New England Patriots’ safety Rodney Harrison is the fact that, no matter what he says, he likely won’t have said the stupidest thing uttered by a “Football Night in America” analyst this off-season (thinking of you, Tony Dungy).

More from New England Patriots

On Friday night, as part of the inductions to the Patriots Hall of Fame, Harrison went off on quite the rant, fueled by his belief that it is unacceptable that New England has not won more Super Bowl championships.

From Tom Curran of CSN:

"“You have an opportunity to play for the greatest organization on the planet,” Harrison said at one point. “How can you not come out here and get it done? It’s not good enough to win a playoff game. It’s not good enough to make it to the AFC Championship game. It’s time to win a Super Bowl and everybody has to be held accountable.”"

Harrison went on and explained how happy he is about the team adding Darrelle Revis. That’s not just for the team’s sake, but also for his own emotional well being in the analyst’s chair:

"“…it hurt my heart to have to criticize this secondary on Sunday nights (on NBC the past few seasons). It hurt my heart."

It hurt his heart, you guys.

As for the question of “how can you not win more Super Bowls?”, Harrison ought to know better, especially given his job as an analyst. Sure, the Patriots have had some missteps, but take a look around the league and notice what other teams have done to catch up to and surpass the Pats. That’s just how these things go.

As alternative answer to his question about New England not winning Super Bowls, I would offer the following: hey Rodney…David Tyree says what’s up.
