As the years continue to go by, more and more stars from the late 80s and throughout the 1990s are starting to get their due and be inducted into the Hall of Fame. We saw that last night with the likes of Derrick Brooks and Michael Strahan get inducted and it’s only a matter of time before one former Green Bay Packers quarterback joins the party.
Brett Favre is eligible to be voted into the Hall of Fame beginning in 2016 and Packers fans are already banking on him being a first-ballot Hall of Famer. In fact, according to the Canton Rep, hotels around the Canton area are already getting calls from Packers fans booking rooms for the Hall of Fame weekend in 2016.
"There is little doubt that former Packers quarterback Brett Favre will be a first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer. He isn’t eligible for induction in Canton until 2016. Green Bay fans, some of the most loyal in the NFL, already have scouted area hotels. Some hotels have received reservations from Packers fan for the 2016 enshrinement weekend. There’s also a good chance the Packers will be playing in that Hall of Fame Game."
It’s not that surprising that Packers fans are this gung-ho about seeing Brett Favre inducted into the Hall of Fame, but it confirms that the bad blood that existed for a while between the two sides has subsided. It’s only a matter of time before Favre’s jersey is retired at Lambeau Field and it’s looking like 2016 is going to be the Year of Farve in Green Bay.
