But while the team was loading itself with some of the best arms in baseball today, the A’s are also looking at bringing back an old face who remembers what it was like to be part of something truly special in Oakland. According to A’s beat writer Susan Slusser, the Athletics are looking into signing Scott Sizemore in August.
As long as he’s on roster by the end of the month and stays there, then Sizemore could actually provide a decent boost to an A’s locker room full of youth and swagger. He’s not an All-Star addition, should he be signed, but the A’s are looking at one of their own in Sizemore and could bring him back to help out this postseason in more than one way.
