The Buffalo Bills got out to a not so bad start during the Hall of Fame Game in Canton this Sunday night, but they were doing so without the aide of the new NFL technology on the sideline.

This year hte league is allowing for use of Microsoft tablets on the sidelines to help better and more immediately analyze game footage and photos like they used to do in the ‘olden days’ in binders and Xerox. But one thing about technology is it doesn’t always work — and that was what happened to the Bills on Sunday night.

And of course it happened to the Bills.

Marrone spoke  about the tablet malfunction to WGR 550 AM in Buffalo after the Bills 17-13 loss to the Giants on Sunday night in Canton.

"“I was told mine was going to work, and mine didn’t work. They said they would get it right, and it was miscommunication. But I was excited. I did use it in the second half, and I like it a lot,”"

It’s clear that technology isn’t always going to cooperate with the game of football, but that’s not the point of the game. It’s an advantage, not something that defines the game and the Bills managed to score their only touchdown of the preseason so far during a half in which they were tablet-less on the sideline.
