The Philadelphia Phillies were rumored to be making some big trades this summer but the non-waiver wire deadline has come and gone and no deals were made by the Phillies.

More from MLB Trade Rumors

That’s a bit of a problem when it comes to dumping fuel the way Philly wanted to do but they can still make trades and still plan on trying to get rid of some of their less desirable contracts in an effort to rebuild a bit.

Philly put it’s first batch of players on the revocable waiver wire on Saturday and have placed the rest of their notable names on the waiver wire on Monday.

Of the players waived today, Cole Hamels is the least likely to clear waivers as despite having a $104 million contract, he’s one of the better pitchers in the MLB and will either be blocked via waiver claim or straight up claimed out of curiosity by a team around baseball.
