The Indiana Pacers are suddenly in serious need of finding a replacement for Paul George, as his leg nearly snapping off during a Team USA scrimmage the other night was perhaps the most gruesome thing NBA fans have seen in a good long while.

More from Indiana Pacers

As bad as everyone feels for the Pacers, the loss of George is creating an opening for teams to go hard after the Pacers and knock them off sans their superstar, which is prompting the Pacers to quickly find the best replacement they can on their roster for him.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the Pacers are making a strong push to try and sign Shawn Marion and have been calling him up over the past few days to try and make something happen.

Marion would be a huge addition for the Pacers and one that not many have been thinking of in the wake of the Paul George injury. Not only is he a veteran leader but he seems like he could step in and perhaps not replace Paul George but fill in for his missing presence on the team.
