We’ve made it! Football is back, and with that comes the over analyzing of the preseason, trying to find any advantage we can for our upcoming drafts. Many fantasy champions are made in the preseason. From analyzing rookies to scoping out all of the off-season moves, I will try to help you prepare as well. We’re going to start this series by listing key take aways from last night’s bevy of preseason games along with last Sunday’s Hall of Fame Game. Buffalo Bills vs New York Giants
- Rashad Jennings. DRAFT HIM! He looks to be a major player in PPR leagues. With David Wilson retiring and Peyton Hillis coming getting hurt, there is no true competition for Jennings. I managed to snag him as a flex in one of my early draft leagues, and it’s looking to be a great pay out. He already seems to have gained the trust of Eli Manning. Andre Williams will be Jennings’ only competition, and will likely only be used in goal-line situations.
- Robert Woods had trouble with the first team because E.J. Manuel was staring down his receivers the whole time. However, once the second team rolled in, Robert Woods balled out. Woods is one of my sleeper candidates, taking over Stevie Johnson’s role in the offense. He could put up huge numbers.
- Fred Jackson played with the first team, and despite his age, he always seems to produce decent fantasy numbers. With C.J. Spiller on thin ice, Fred Jackson will get plenty of touches and must be drafted as insurance for Spiller, or as a bye week flex option. This could be more of a timeshare than most backfield situations, so monitor it closely.
