One thing that was seemingly holding up a trade was the Cavaliers reluctance to trade Andrew Wiggins but it seems that he is now going to be a part of a the deal after all. While the biggest indicator so far has been a report directly stating Wiggins is involved in the trade — not that we haven’t heard that before — but now it appears that there’s an even bigger indicator that Wiggins is Minnesota bound.
According to Jon Krawczynski, representatives from Wiggins camp have been telling him to start looking at endorsement deals in Minnesota, since that’s where he’s going to be heading.
What this really means is all those times we heard that Wiggins might be involved in a Kevin Love trade this past week, he really was. Lining up local endorsement deals in Minnesota maens that Wiggins is for sure coming over in a deal and has been for a while and that’s really all the Wolves wanted.
The trade isn’t finalized yet though, which means it could still fall apart. But the Cavaliers aren’t advising Wiggins to not seek endorsement deals in Minnesota, which means if all goes well the rookie will be honoring those endorsements this season.
